ADVENT
Traditionally, Advent, which comes from the Latin word adventus, which means “waiting,” has been celebrated on the four Sundays leading up to Christmas and the fifth and final celebration on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
It is a time of eager anticipation leading up to the celebration of Jesus’ birth at Christmas. Advent invites us to look back at the amazing gift God gave us at Christmas-God’s very own Son, Jesus.
It also invites us to look ahead with joyful anticipation to the time Jesus will return-a time when God will right all wrongs and make every broken thing whole.
In the midst of all the online shopping and over-the-top decorations, Advent calls us to pause and take a look at where
God is at work in us and in the world around us.
Our prayer is that this resource would help to create meaningful moments for you and your family to capture the unexpected wonder and joy of Christmas during this Advent season.
